"Welcome Spring"
I wanted to paint that feeling of when you first open your front door and Spring is there. The very beginning of the season, when the light changes and the flowers just begin to appear...the pansies and the new green shoots of things. But how to stand there for hours without the puppy scooting outing the front yard? The solution; a dog gate. I just 'painted around it'. (Artists have to do that a lot). My favorite part of this painting is the little fox door knocker.
