The Bottlegourd Vine (Winner of the Pamela Morrison Award, Phillips Mill 88th Exhibition)

Another title for this could be "Untangling Spaghetti" since that's what I felt like I was doing most of the time I was painting. At the same time, I loved the colors and the complexity. Hidden in the depths are flashes of turquoise, gold, chartreuse, violet, pink, peach, and an icy green. And the wonderful shapes of the gourds, so bulbous in contrast to the rest of the greenery; it was hard to know when to stop.
