Bea's Place

This is Hilltop Farm, Beatrix Potter's refuge in the lovely Lake District, where she fled when her beloved Norman died. Here she established herself as a local sheep farmer, having already made a career as a famous illustrator. I would imagine that the charm of this place soothed her broken heart and inspired her to create more of her creatures...such as Jemima Puddleduck, Timmy Tiptoes and Squirrel Nutkin. They all belong here.
