Colette in Her Flower Garden
This is Colette, the French writer from the Belle Epoque. I think I've read every word she's ever written. Her books are my solace. Her garden at Les Monts-Boucons, the country house her husband bought outside of Paris, was one of hers. This old photograph of her with her poppies is one of my favorites. You can just barely make out a figure in suspenders and a straw hat (Willy?) on the left by the house.
