"Winter Trees"

The bare branches of trees in Winter have always captured my imagination. The endless lines contrasting with the bright blue sky; there's so much negative space to play with! Who hasn't been transfixed at some point by the quiet twilight in Winter? A turquoise worthy of Maxfield Parrish illuminates the sky, reflected in the even deeper blue of the snow. The trees and buildings turn into hulking, grey shapes, the twinkle of a lighted window sprinkled here and there. A suburban street is transformed. It's just the view from my front porch!
